PHP 7.4 is now available on all new sites, staging sites and dev sites
PHP 7.4 was released on 28 November 2019, which meant that active support for PHP 7.2 ended on 30 November 2019. Security support for PHP 7.2 will continue until 30 November 2020.
Mshini has made PHP 7.4 available on all new sites, staging sites and dev sites. We aim to roll out PHP 7.4 as the default stable version for all existing sites in September 2020.
PHP 7.4 sees some performance improvements with reports of sites loading up to 10% quicker than with PHP 7.2 due to the former being able to process more requests per second.

As a Mshini customer you’re able to push your site to staging from within your Mshini control panel to test if everything works as expected under PHP 7.4. You should then browse your staging site thoroughly to test your site for compatibility. If everything works as expected then you have nothing to be concerned about. If however you encounter any problems with your site, you’ll need to contact your website developer to address those problems before the end of September 2020.
