Email recommendations from Mshini

Mshini specialises in WordPress hosting and doesn’t currently offer any email hosting service.  Should you not already have an email solution in place, you would need to make use of a 3rd party mail hosting service. Two great options for consideration would be Google’s G Suite and Zoho Mail.

We’ve specifically chosen not to offer email hosting as we couldn’t compete with the likes of Zoho and Google’s G Suite in the email hosting space. At Mshini we use Google’s G Suite service for email.

G Suite is a great solution but costs approximately $5 monthly per mailbox. Features include a 14-day trial, 30GB cloud storage as well as 24/7 support via email, phone or online. For more information on their pricing and features, you can click on the link below:

For those on a budget, Zoho Mail offers a basic “Free” solution that utilizes their webmail interface but does not offer IMAP or POP support. For that, there is a paid “Standard” option for $2 available with features that include IMAP/POP support, active sync, 5GB File upload limit as well as G Suite integration. Many of our customers use the Zoho email service. For more information on their pricing and features, you can click on the link below:

Once you have selected a mail hosting service and set everything up with your new email provider, you should contact your domain name administrator to have them update your domain’s DNS mail exchange (MX) records to point to your email provider of choice. If your domain name was registered through Mshini, please email us to request an MX record update and include all relevant information regarding the new mail servers for your domain.

DNS record updates are subject to DNS propagation and may take up to 24 hours to effect. You may check on the status of your MX record update by performing a lookup on the MxToolbox website.
